Musical Motivation Monday – Week Three

CheerYouOn
Go to any sporting event and you’ll find them. They can be in a squad, dressed as a mascot, or even the fans organizing the wave – Cheerleaders! The eternal pep squad there to encourage the players to do their best and to get the fans engaged in the game, set, and/or match. They even have their own competitions and cheerleader fans.
We on Team Rockin’ Weeble have our own fans and cheerleaders dedicated to pushing us to walk beyond what we believe we can do and reminding us why we are doing this. One in particular is Andrew “Tom” McMillan. Tom, is 80 years old, has MS and is currently wheelchair bound but the few steps he does take go to the Rockin’ Weebles and everyday he checks in to encourage your Team Captain, yours truly, to get moving.
Even the walk itself has its own cheering section! GO Cheering Section! Without these wonderful people encouraging us, supporting us in what we are doing, the task of reaching the moon would seem beyond daunting and downright frightful even for the most motivated among us. I honestly believe that without the support of our cheering section and their words of encouragement Team Rockin’ Weebles wouldn’t be where they are. If I didn’t have support of those around me, I’d probably still be trying to figure out just how I can be an advocate for those with A.S.
In the first two weeks (10 days) of walking, the entire campaign has made 64,194,441 steps toward our goal and our cheerleaders were behind us every step of the way. We have made more steps in 10 days than were made in 9 weeks of stepping last year! Cheering section, be proud of that! Keep up the good work! Keep us Rockin’! Push us to go beyond and let us know you are out there behind us all the way.
